When it comes to Christmas, preparation is key to a less stressful holiday season for any family! Family recently spoke with three military spouses for their tips to prepare for Christmas. Check out their tips below!

“Some of my favorite tips for the pre-Christmas season include prioritizing what matters most to you—whether it’s shopping, spending quality time with family, or hosting gatherings. Always keep in mind that connections with people hold greater value than material possessions."

Elizabeth Castillo, Army spouse, Fort Riley, KS

"Every year, we put $10 a paycheck, from both of our paychecks, into a special account designed just for Christmas. It really helps us when it comes time to purchase Christmas presents."

Shadow King, Army spouse, Fort Riley, KS

"I like making our home cozy with little decorations such as pillows, garlands, and table runners. Our house also smells like cedar, pine, etc, during Christmas. We bake lots of German dishes (I was born and raised in Bavaria), such as roasts every Sunday and different cookies and goodies I pack for the family for school/work."

Manuela Clement, Army spouse, Fort Knox, KY
