Technology, in many applications, is used to make life a whole lot easier. Keeping you organized is just one of those many uses. When I think about organization and technology together, many facets of this topic come to mind. There are physical devices that help keep your technology devices organized. There are apps for your mobile device and programs for your computers that can keep your life organized. There’s also tech gadgets that keep items you use every day ready and secure. Let’s dig into some of these items and see if we can’t organize your life.

For a tech junky like myself, and someone who likes their gadgets in the same manufacturer ecosystem, something as simple as a charging station can be a huge improvement in managing your tech devices. A charging station allows you to charge multiple devices by using one single power cord. They can be simple and charge one device, like your phone, or they can be complex and charge multiple items, such as phones, smart watches, and wireless earbuds. These can be a game-changer when it comes to charging all your devices at once, reducing the number of charging cables you have to use and keeping all of your devices in one, centralized place. A charging station is definitely on my want list this holiday season.

Passwords, like charging cables, can get out of control really quickly. With the amount of accounts most of us have online now, everything needs a password. What’s the best way to manage and organize your passwords? Programs like LastPass are a life saver when it comes to this topic. LastPass is a web-based program that stores and allows you to organize passwords to different accounts you use on the web. The program is secure, requiring a master password you have to remember, and even auto-fills username and password boxes for websites you visit. With all of the passwords you have to keep track of, you should consider letting LastPass make this aspect of your life easier.

And finally, what are two things you always make sure you have before you walk out the door? You always make sure you have your keys and your phone. What if you can’t find one or the other? You’re stuck searching the house and ending up late to your appointment or meeting. A new smart device that I recently stumbled on is called KeySmart. KeySmart is a smart keychain which also has a Tile GPS tracker built in. This tracker links to your smartphone via an app. If you lose your keys, you simply open the app, and the keychain will show up on a map to help you locate them. If they are nearby in your house, you can also play an audible sound to help you locate them. What happens if you have your keys, but can’t find your phone? No worries: It works in reverse as well. Simply press the button on the KeySmart device, and it will play an audible noise through your phone to help you find it as well. Not only will your keys be organized on the keychain, but it will help keep your life a little more organized and maybe help you get to work on time.
